May 2025

In our May meeting, we welcomed Tom Clarke, Head Gardener at Exbury Gardens, that has over 200 acres of woodland, herbaceous and formal gardens. His talk was all about the great history of Exbury starting with Lionel de Rothschild, who started to build the great gardens in 1919. Over the years, he assembled a celebrated collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, magnolias along with many other shrubs and tress.
It was a fantastic, educational and entertaining talk with many beautiful blooms to inspire us in our own gardens, albeit a little smaller!
If you like the look of this, why not come along to our friendly club, make some new friends, and learn a thing or two about gardening.
